Recent policy changes on eBay's end have set a new standard for tracking upload time of shipped items. eBay requires high percentiles of timely tracking uploads in order to be considered a top-rated seller.
However, Amazon's MCF doesn't always play along. Amazon is known to be slow on providing JoeLister necessary info to upload tracking. JoeLister will upload tracking to eBay within 30 minutes of Amazon passing it to us. Thus, JoeLister cannot upload anything to eBay when we don't have the info yet.
In order to maintain higher percentages of timely tracking upload and be a top-rated seller (and receive the perks/discounts associated with it), there are 2 predominant methods our members use:
Method 1: Only offer Expedited and above shipping (no default/standard)
Expedited shipping items receive higher priority in Amazon's shipping queue and provide tracking information much faster than standard items.
We found the median duration to be: 17.8 hours for expedited tracking, well within what eBay requires.
By only offering expedited shipping, you guarantee that all sales will be shipped/tracked faster.
Shipping options can be modified in the shipping profile on eBay's business policy configuration page.
Explanation to eBay's business policy profiles can be found here.
Method 2: Ensuring that your handling time is set 2 days or higher in the JoeLister Shipping Profile on eBay's website
Having at least two days of time in your shipping policies/profiles give your items more breathing room to be shipped within eBay's deadline.
Either of these two options should work. The tradeoff of Method 2 is that the package arrival date is later, which may sway the buyer, while Method 1 requires a higher cost; both of these tradeoffs may sway the buyer. A combination of the two may be needed in certain scenarios.
